Mad River Seniors Program Manager

​

As the Program Manager for an active, local nonprofit organization serving older community members in the Mad River Valley, you will support the Mad River Seniors (MRS) Board of Directors in building a vibrant community resource dedicated to the health and wellbeing of our clients.


This is a 16 hour per week role that reports to the President of the MRS Board of Directors. Pay is commensurate with experience. Work location is flexible; all records, supplies, and equipment are housed at Evergreen Place in Waitsfield.

 

Responsibilities  
 

  • Communicate visibly with MRS’s senior clients. In addition, support the communication flow between the MRS Board, volunteers, and clients. This includes responding to emails sent through the MRS website in a timely manner.

  • Build connections to the Mad River Valley senior community to understand their needs. Tailor new and existing services to address those needs.

  • Plan and manage senior wellness activities. Also support logistics for board-led wellness activities.

  • Organize programming for weekly senior luncheons.

  • Produce and publish a monthly newsletter for seniors (print and online)

  • Maintain an updated MRS calendar of events/activities on the MRS website. Publicize events/activities in MRS newsletter, Valley Reporter, Front Porch Forum, and on the MRS website.

  • Manage and/or provide logistical support for MRS’s annual fundraisers. Help meet monetary fundraising goals as set by the MRS Board.

  • Maintain donor records; send thank you letters within two weeks of receiving donations.

  • Support the organization’s needs through other duties as required.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency with business applications such as Google Sheets, Google Docs, MS Word, etc.

  • Proven organizational and program management skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

  • A can-do attitude

  • Ability to multitask

  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the organization

  • Ability to think creatively, seek solutions, and own problems

  • A general understanding of the needs of senior citizens

  • General knowledge of local and regional human services and resources

  • Event planning experience
